Oh my gosh this is such a cool concept! I was about to ask how you did it without motion sickness but then I saw you did end up having to stop from it. Looking down for me in a car or on a ferry is an absolute no go. Maybe there's a way to sit in the backseat and rig up a page on the back of one of the front seats though 🤔

Also absolutely STUNNING work!! 😍

I think you could do it in the backseat. It was a fun and freeing challenge to sketch the moving landscape but the motion sick was a challenge. I think you could embrace this concept with any dynamic landscape or by going for a walk and sketching at several points, but it would be hard to get up and move to the next one. Might be fun to try though!

Ohhh doing it on a walk sounds like it would be fun! I feel like you'd have to set a timer and have the resolve to pull yourself away haha. But doable for sure!!

A fascinating insight into your artistic process, thank you. I’ve just started sketching and painting again, and I’d love to know more about how you approach creating your colour swatches and how you use them. I look forward to seeing your work in a desert! 😊

Hi Lynne! Happy to hear this can be an inspiration to you. Sometimes sketching the whole landscape feels overwhelming so I like to break it down by focusing on the color. This creates a different kind of experience and memory as well. It can also be helpful for future work to have color pallets that are inspired from certain places.
